I love vintage type and hand lettering. Sometimes generic fonts don't do the trick, and I'm a big believer in custom type. Doing work by hand really brings something different to a design, a level of authenticity and nostalgia. I have been working a lot lately on hand lettering and this is one piece I recently did.

ABOUT THE BRAND
Young Love Outfitters is a socially conscious, for-purpose, clothing brand located in Northern California. 15% of every purchase goes to support one of three non-profit organizations that the customer chooses.
Young Love Outfitters is a brand I co-founded in 2012, and remains one of my proudest accomplishments. These are some selected pieces I designed for the brand.
I had a lot of fun creating a variety of logo marks and working on the concepts behind the branding of Young Love Outfitters. These are a few examples of type based logos and branding assets I created.
The idea behind all of these was to create a vintage, timeless feel.
For my brand identity I really wanted to communicate who I am as a designer at a quick glance. My aesthetic is typically very clean and minimal, a little unconventional at times, and always leaves a little room for imagination.
I love using texture, especially paper texture, and Flume is one artist I constantly listen to while I design. I wanted to create an album cover using geometric shapes and construction paper to give it an organic feel as well as a sense of depth. I used a saturated pink and blue, a take on colors I have seen used in various Flume artwork to keep a consistent look.
Harlem - the place I now call home. I'm obsessed with hand lettering, and particularly vintage type. This is a hand lettering piece I did to pay homage.
This is a logo I designed for a small-batch specialty ice cream company in Chico, CA. Simple, clean branding.
I was really excited for Years & Years' new album Communion to come out and I had the urge to do some more album art and this was the result.
